Chris and Tony recently spent a week at the Aromitalia factory in Turin alongside Annarita, head of Aromitalia's technical department and Gabrielle, our Italian Gelato Master Chef. Aromitalia is one of the oldest flavour houses in Italy and is one of the few to manufacture it's own products in house. They spent some time in the factory seeing how the raw materials were turned into the final products. Chris was particularly impressed with the roasting room where Aromitalia roast their own local Piemontese I.G.P. hazelnuts and sicilian pistachios. It has been a lesson on both sides as we took over lots of our favourite british biscuits and sweets for our chef to help recreate gelato style. The results have been fantastic!
